Online Therapy for Women In California and Washington State.

Hi, I’m Valerie Harris-Reamer. I’m a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works with women who have experienced tough stuff in their childhood and feel like they have lost their way. My goal is to help you stop losing control and start encouraging you to see healing and transformation and live your best life.

My Journey To Becoming A Therapist

I’m no different from the clients I see. Like everyone else, I’m human. I’ve been through both wonderful and difficult experiences that have shaped who I am and how I help.

I am a survivor too. I struggled a lot with the pain from the past. I know what it’s like to have difficult childhood experiences and still be affected by them well into adulthood. I know what it’s like to sit with a therapist and walk through the journey of self-discovery and healing transformation.

I get it!

My life experiences are what lead me to become the therapist I am today.

Helping People Is What I Look Forward To Every Day

Being a therapist is inspiring and rewarding. I love helping people become healthier and more empowered and witnessing them achieve more fulfilling lives. The most rewarding thing about being a Therapist is seeing a person walk away lighter, more free, and excited about their life and where they are headed.

I am committed to you and your goals of healing and transformation.

I Have Compassion For People And Bring Clarifying And Energizing Presence To Sessions

I have a natural ability to:

  • Help people identify what they are feeling

  • Uncover what’s under the surface

  • Explain mental health symptoms in an easy to understand way

  • Help clients heal their past and manage the present

  • Help people feel comfortable

  • Inspire hope for getting better

  • Accept people for who they are and where they’re at

People who know me often say that I am a good listener who can help people feel heard and understood which helps people feel seen and start to heal.

Our Sessions Are Focused On You

Sessions will provide you with a safe space to express your thoughts and feelings in which you’ll be able to gain clarity and understanding.

It’s important to me to create safety within the session. There isn’t a “one size fits all” approach to therapy. Our sessions will fit your specific needs and concerns.

I Embrace The Following Philosophies

  • I believe that you are worthy of love and care.

  • I believe that therapy should address the whole person – their mind, body, and spirit.

  • I believe that loving and accepting ourselves for who we are, scars and all, is one of the most courageous things we can do.

My Professional Background

At 15 years old I told my father I wanted to be a therapist. True story! As with most people, life happens. The journey to reach my dream of becoming a therapist is not unlike any other life journey. Some dreams take time. In 1996, I earned my Bachelors in Psychology from Whitworth University and was honored to publish a study at the junior APA conference on the topic of parenting styles and eating disordered behaviors. In 2012, I earned my Masters Degree from University of Phoenix. I am an advocate for victims of domestic violence and childhood abuse. I have achieved specialities in treating addiction, trauma and PTSD.
